The Traveler & Scooter

Those are the boys first two nicknames (many more to come, I'm sure) - and it refers to the fact that they are mobile in their beds now! They were both caught today slithering all around their isoletes - in fact, both of them rolled off of their bed and were resting in the crevice between the bed and the side of the isolete; I guess they are tired of being cooped up! I wish I had a photo of Cole as he was resting comfortably against the door of his bed - smarty pants he is.

They both had a pretty good night last night and day today; I hope I'm not jinxing them by saying that. Their nurse from last night gave them both angel pins for their isoletes this morning. I took that as a good sign.

I kangaroo'd with them again today for about an hour. They did great. Cole was weaned down on his canula flow today - he's gone from 4 liters to 2 liters in just two days. He's making progress!

When I left tonight, they had just been weighed. Cole was up about 6 grams, to 1 lb, 14.75 oz. And JD was up about 10 grams, to 2 lb, 10.5 oz. Cole's calories were upped again today and JD's food amount was increased as well. Hopefully both of them will continue to gain weight nicely. They are looking different every day. Here are a few pics from yesterday - their 3 week birthday!

JD is resting peacefully;

Kate,

Can't believe that three weeks have gone by already. It seemed like just yesterday that I was taking care of all of you. I am so happy that things are going so well. I will keep close tabs on all of you.
