The Traveler & Scooter

Those are the boys first two nicknames (many more to come, I'm sure) - and it refers to the fact that they are mobile in their beds now! They were both caught today slithering all around their isoletes - in fact, both of them rolled off of their bed and were resting in the crevice between the bed and the side of the isolete; I guess they are tired of being cooped up! I wish I had a photo of Cole as he was resting comfortably against the door of his bed - smarty pants he is.

They both had a pretty good night last night and day today; I hope I'm not jinxing them by saying that. Their nurse from last night gave them both angel pins for their isoletes this morning. I took that as a good sign.

I kangaroo'd with them again today for about an hour. They did great. Cole was weaned down on his canula flow today - he's gone from 4 liters to 2 liters in just two days. He's making progress!

When I left tonight, they had just been weighed. Cole was up about 6 grams, to 1 lb, 14.75 oz. And JD was up about 10 grams, to 2 lb, 10.5 oz. Cole's calories were upped again today and JD's food amount was increased as well. Hopefully both of them will continue to gain weight nicely. They are looking different every day.
