Cole is shortly behind him. He's having a bit of reflux so until they get that under control, he'll have his nasal canula. He's breathing room air, but it just has some warm oxygen blowing in also to keep him comfortable. Hopefully in a few days, he too will be breathing unassisted.
I just can't believe it. I'm so proud of them - in just 13 days, they have come such a long way. I took some more pictures today - not sure if others can tell how much they have changed but we sure can.
Cole is weighing in at a whopping 1 lb, 13 oz & JD is weighing in at about 2 lb, 2 oz. Over this next week, they should start bulking up a little bit more. They are steadily increasing their feedings and dropping their IV support so that is what will hopefully help them fatten up. It's amazing that two little babies who are barely 2 lb's can function so well on their own. They are truly amazing little guys.
BIG BOY Cole!

BIG BOY JD!

Here's another cute one of Cole:

Hello Kate and Chuckie..it's me, Jen Goodrich( now Crabtree)...Mindy sent me this blog and I wanted to let you know that Susie (my sister) and Charlie went through the exact same thing you are going through...they're twins were born at 30 weeks and I can remember the first time she got to do kangaroo care..she couldn't put it in words. Giuseppe and Giovanni are now a year old and doing fabulous!! The Nic-U is a fabulous place!!In one of your pictures, there is shot of them with their arms on each other. We have the exact same one. It's the first picture that was given out to the family. I'm sorry to hear about Cal. I think it's great that so many people are into your journey! Best of luck! My thoughts are with you!
