Childhood Memories

There aren't many things better than sharing your best childhood memories with your kids. Especially when it entails doing the same things with them, in the same places, as you did them as kids. We had a fabulous weekend - and we did exactly that. Our day today was spent on the boat with some friends where we all played in the water and sunshine all day. The kids loved it. And I was thrown back to being a kid when we did the same thing, in the same creek, every Sunday. We "rafted" up in Broad Creek, off of the Magothy River, with several boats and spent the day eating, drinking and playing.
This was the kids first time on a boat (well, on a boat that was actually moving). We've been on Grampy's boat but it just stayed at the dock. They did great on the boat and loved being on the water. It was hotter than hot - but they were troopers. Once we got to the "island", JD was unstoppable. He loved swimming and was in the water the entire time. He was even jumping off of the back of the big boats like the big kids.
Cole was a bit more reserved, opting for the beach activities instead of the water. But they really had a great time. So great, that on the way home as we bounced through the waves, they conked out in our arms. Sitting up. Heads bobbing.

I grew up with such a fun childhood and it makes me so happy to be able to share some of my fondest memories with my kids. I can't wait to do it again!
