Grampy goes to Key Largo

Well, my Dad left last weekend to take his boat down to Key Largo - the hard way! He and his crew left Annapolis over the weekend and finally arrived in Charleston, SC on Tuesday evening. They are sailing the big blue ocean to get there. They had a rough last 36 hours due to high winds and high seas but they made it. They were happy to see shore and get a warm meal and good nights sleep. They had a few drinks, switched out a few crew members and set back out headed South last evening about 6pm. They are scheduled to make it to Key Largo by Sunday. This last leg includes 4 of my family members (Dad, Colorado Grampy (Uncle B), my Brother Toby, and my cousin, Lane). We are praying for calm seas and a steady breeze so it's an easier sail than the first leg.

One of the crew members from the first leg took this video while enduring the rough sailing parts. Anyone who knows sailing, can see by the heel of the boat and the high seas that it could not have been too much fun. I know they will be happy to reach their destination and kick back Ocean Reef style for a day or two before returning home.

Godspeed guys - we're thinking of you!
