8 Month Update!

I don't know where the time has gone...how on earth did these babies get to be EIGHT months already? We're having an absolute blast with them. They have such little personalities and every day seems like a new adventure. Here's a photo of them on their 8 month birthday - 4/29/07JD's latest is that he's over 18 lbs. now, unofficially. We haven't been to the doctor in a while so don't have an official weight but he's a solid little guy. He's very close to sitting up now on his own, and seems to roll right across the room if there isn't anything in his way. He loves his jumperoo (wait til' you see the latest video). He's an absolute maniac in it and we just die laughing at him all of the time. He's a total ham - and has quite a little temper. He knows what he wants and how to get it. Although, we've caught on to his little games now so we're trying hard to break this habit early. He's a joy to be around and just loves to play. He's still not a good napper - unfortunately. But he sleeps like a log through the night so really can't complain too much. He's still dabbling with food but not as enthusiastic as he was a few weeks ago. He's definitely close to getting some teeth so perhaps he's not into food since his gums are sore. Who knows. JD never stops talking these days - and he loves to hear his voice so he's known to let out some very loud screams, followed by a huge smile! We think JD is giving up his pacifier now so we're thankful that we won't have to wean him from that down the road.

Cole is catching right up to JD still - trailing by about 2 lbs in girth but not trailing at all in length! He's probably pushing 17 lbs now so he's keeping up with his little brother. Cole has finally mastered the "roll over" so he's now working on perfecting that. He loves books and is very intent on studying whatever he's holding. He's very patient and smiles almost all of the time. He's got his fathers sheepish grin, which is a riot. He's a total flirt and loves attention. He's not a big eater of baby food but boy can he slam a bottle down. He too is teething so EVERYTHING that goes in his hands, goes into his mouth - including his hands. His favorite chew toy is his bib - and anyone that knows my aversion to cotton knows that this really kills me to see. I cringe every time I see it! Nonetheless, he's a very happy little guy and his smile just melts my heart every time. He chatters ALL of the time and even sings to us; he loves to make little noises. Cole loves his naps each morning and afternoon - and goes down so easily. Thank goodness that we have at least one sleeper!

Both boys are really interacting now and it's so awesome to watch. They really study each other when they are side by side. And often they will look for each other when we walk into a new room. JD steals Cole's toys most of the time though so we're working on teaching Cole to hold on a bit tighter...someday he'll learn. Or maybe not - maybe he's just so laid back that he doesn't really care. That wouldn't be a bad thing I guess.

We're having the time of our lives with these little miracles and are so very thankful. We've got lots of fun times to look forward to, that is for sure!
