Just a quick update. Cole is coasting right along for now - no major changes. He has taken all of his bottles now for over 24 hours so that is a great milestone. They will probably pull his feeding tube in the next couple of days if he keeps this up. That should make it easier for him to eat when the tube is removed. It should also help his reflux.
He's still on oxygen and we're weaning him down slowly again. There is talk of a homecoming next week but we are just taking it one day at a time. We don't want him home until he's ready to be here so we're trying to be as patient as we can. He's almost to 5 pounds now - last night he was 4lb, 14.4 oz. Perhaps he'll hit FIVE pounds tonight.
All else is going well on the homefront. We're loving the nanny - she's working out wonderfully. She adores JD and it appears that he is very relaxed and content with her. I feel very lucky that so far this is working out so well.
Until tomorrow...g'night all.

Glad to hear that you're all doing so well. I still check up on you daily. 5lbs - seems to be that magic #. Go Cole! You really sound great. It won't be long. Yeah!!!!
That's so good that Cole is doing well. Tina's right, 5lbs seems to be that magic number. He'll be coming home in not time and hopefully, before Thanksgiving.
